The Brunellos of Gianni Brunelli
Last week we had the good fortune to meet and taste with Laura Brunelli. Her husband, Gianni, is the star behind the scene at their Le Chiuse di Sotto estate in Montalcino. In 1987 their dream came true when they returned to Montalcino and acquired the farm where Gianni's father used to work. |

| New to us (but not to The Wine Spectator), we were bowled over by the quality of the wines. Brunelli is a tiny estate (15 hectares) and produces small quantities of wine (with exquisite distinctive labels). We feel very fortunate to have been offered the lion's share of their stunning Brunellos. | ||||||
