Understanding the four different labels from Domaine Leflaive.

Domaine Leflaive -

• 100% family and estate owned vineyards
• Domaine Leflaive controls the farming 100% and all vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic.
• All wines are vinified in the historic cellars in Puligny-Montrachet.
• This is the core property in and around Puligny-Montrachet.

Domaines Leflaive -

• This label is used for mainly the wines produced in the Macon region.
• The family co-owns or has long-term contracts on the vineyards.
• Domaine Leflaive controls the farming 100% and all vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic.
• All wines are vinified in the historic cellars in Puligny-Montrachet.

Leflaive & Associes -

• This label is used for wines mostly produced in the Cote d'Or where the Domaine has long term contracts on the vineyard parcels.
• Most of these parcels are owned by a family member versus the entire collective co-owning the parcels.  Additional parcels are from long-time friends of the family or extended members of the Domaine.
• Domaine Leflaive controls the farming 100% and all vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic.
• All wines are vinified in the historic cellars in Puligny-Montrachet.
• The Bourgogne Blanc from Leflaive & Associes is sourced from vineyards exclusively within the borders of the village of Puligny-Montrachet.

Esprit de Leflaive -

• This label is used for a negociant range of wines.
• Farming may or may not be conducted by Domaine Leflaive.
• This label may include purchased grapes.
• All vineyard sources are organic and/or biodynamic.

Please note that Oliver Leflaive and Domaine Olivier Leflaive are another arm of the family that are operated and made separate from the four different labels of Domaine Leflaive.
