Racked yesterday sample taken previously from barrel. 13.9% alcohol which is in balance for a Morgeot wine. One of the paler colours and quite chiselled. A bundle of white fruit well supported by the oak a little tint of fresh acidity medium bodied plus Morgeot is less heavy than it used to be a
Here the expressive nose displays a phenolic note on the ripe aromas of mostly poached white orchard fruit and a hint of rosemary oil. There is fine richness and density to the bigger-bodied and powerful flavors that exhibit fine length on the bone-dry finale. The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Abbaye de Morgeot 1er Cru has fine mineralité on the nose taut and fresh quite Puligny-like and malic. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity taut on the entry but just dispensing with a bit of tension towards the finish when I sought a bit more "bite". Closure: Diam (Drink between 2023-2035)
