Readers looking for a wine with bottle age will find much to admire in the 2006 Barbaresco Riserva Quindicianni a tiny production wine from Baricchi aged in 500L tonneaux. Dried rose petal cedar pipe tobacco incense mint cedar and star anise give the 2006 its wild bouquet. Now in its first plateau of maturity the 2006 has enough depth to drink well for another decade or more. It is quirky enticing and full of character. Give it a few hours of air first though. The 2006 spent five years in oak and a decade in bottle before seeing the light of day.
