This is an electric and racy CdP Blanc. With the use of whole cluster and glass demi-jons, this wine is one of the most vibrant and food friendly CdP whites we have tasted in years. Hints of a piny, herbal character are complemented by a tart citrus and apricot fruit. The texture is oily and smooth but just at medium body. The acidity keeps the wine persistent on the palate finishing with a hint of saltiness.
The classic white here is always worth checking out and the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc shines on all accounts. Honeyed white flowers stone fruits orange blossom and a touch of spice all emerge on the nose and it's medium to full-bodied has a pure elegant mouthfeel and a great finish. It has the vintage's fresher pure style yet doesn't lack for fruit or texture. All the wines previously under the label Domaine Saint-Préfert and Isabel Ferrando are now grouped under the Famille Isabel Ferrando label. The lineup includes two whites a Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc and Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Spéciale Vieilles Clairettes; and three reds a classic Châteauneuf Du Pape a 100% Grenache Châteauneuf Du Pape Colombis and a 100% Cinsault Châteauneuf Du Pape F601. The quality remains sky high at this estate and it?s impossible to go wrong with any of these new releases.
jdShows great harmony to the ripe green plum star fruit and honey upheld by succulent mouthwatering acidity and highlighted by salted butter brioche and cardamom. Reveals acacia floral notes that echo throughout the concentrated smooth finish. Clairette and Roussanne. Drink now through 2027. ?K.B.
