The Château Génot-Boulanger is a family estate run by Aude and Guillaume Lavollée 4th generation vignerons since 2008. Situated in Meursault Côte de Beaune they produce 30 different appellations including 3 Grand Crus and 13 Premier Crus half in Chardonnay and half in Pinot Noir. They began working with organic farming in 2008 and received the certification in 2012.
In the vineyard they make use of everything in order to let the terroir speak. Their goal is to harvest clean and quality grapes without restricting nature. They work their soils throughout the year favoring the continual existence of healthy microbes in the soil."
Vinous: 90 Points
The 2018 Aloxe-Corton Clos du Chapitre 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet of what I discerned as slightly darker and more forthcoming fruit compared to the nascent 2019 the menthol element reduced but extant. The palate is a little chewy and more muscular by comparison grippy with a well-defined and black plum toward the finish. This will drink extremely well over the next decade. (Drink between 2022-2032)
