The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a harmonious quite intense bouquet with yellow plum and jasmine scents hints of lime and dessicated orange peel in tandem. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity taut and fresh quite mineral-driven with just a faint praline note towards the finish. Good persistence here this is a finely-crafted Corton-Charlemagne. (Drink between 2025-2045)
Pale colour cool and chiselled lemony stones a little on the greener side. The label suggests 12% alcohol which is something of a surprise for a 2020 grand cru ? but the plot is in the upper apart and northern end of En Charlemagne and may have been picked early. Certainly this was the only one of the eight wines in the tasting. That showed on the leaner and greener end of the spectrum.
