The 2020 Meursault Les Bouchères 1er Cru takes it up a level on the nose with scents of dried honey beeswax jasmine and light hazelnut aromas that don?t hang about just burst from the glass. The palate is very well balanced with very good intensity taut and fresh traces of tropical fruit (passion fruit and pineapple) neatly counterbalanced by the acidity and tension. Excellent. (Drink between 2024-2040)
Pale lemon colour. Here for the first time there are some fully ripe aromatics a touch of honeysuckle and orange blossom. Picked on the first day. From the aromatics one could have gone even earlier but not the structure in the mouth which has a fresh tension suggesting one could have waited a day. It is a successful compromise.
