The bouquet on the 2014 Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ca' del Merlo is stunning with peppery herbs and florals evolving into a mix of crushed blackberries and clove. It?s silky and elegant in feel washing a pure mix of wild berry fruits and sweet spices across the palate all nicely framed by mineral-tinged acids. Violet florals resonate throughout the long and slightly smoky finish as this tapers off long and fresh with a tart twang. The 2014 Ca del Merlo trades power for grace and does so with style.
