Pale lemon and lime. The nose is less rich than I was expecting from this sunfilled site. But he is in a cold sector at the foot of the very steep slope which gets more dew and does not see the same sun first thing and is the first to be shaded in the evening. So a long slow ripening. All white fruit good acidity behind and plenty of length impressive.
Burghound: 91 Points
This is the first wine to display any appreciable reduction and in this case it's enough to push the underlying fruit to the background so be sure give this some air. Otherwise there is almost painful intensity to the larger-scaled flavors that brim with minerality and focused power on the driving finale. This too could use better depth but given how well La Chatenière generally ages developing more shouldn't be much of a risk. (Drink starting 2026)
