Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy's most important wine producers. Founded in Beaune in 1880 the domaine has expanded throughout the 20th Century to include vineyards in Chablis the Côte de Nuits the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise making everything from simple village-level cuvées to highly priced grand cru and premier cru wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay."

Wine Advocate: 90-92 Points

The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny Village comes mainly from the premier cru Les Baudes that was not affected by the hail damage. It has a very refined bouquet with impressive delineation and plenty of freshness. There is a subtle marine influence here. The palate is medium-bodied with a sorbet-fresh opening. It is not a deep Chambolle more linear and strict prioritizing freshness and tension. This should age very well.

John Gilman: 90+ Points

"Despite the very short crop in this village in 2016 the Drouhins’ example of Chambolle AC has retained plenty of charm and is not overtly structured as can be the case with some examples. The bouquet is pure and refined offering up scents of red and black cherries woodsmoke mustard seed coffee a touch of pigeon and a lovely base of chalky soil tones. On the palate the wine is pure full and nicely energetic with a very good core moderate tannins and lovely length and grip on the well balanced finish. Good juice. 2021-2050."
