Mid yellow in colour. The nose hints at majesty while keeping its powder dry. This takes time to build on the palate it is more in yellow fruit than most of the Jadot wines with a little sucrosity and still the lemon citrus inflection which makes these 2020 whites work so well and the expected length.
vRich and dramatic the 2020 Montrachet Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot) bursts with aromas of peach and pear mingled with orange oil beeswax spices and toasted bread. Full-bodied ample and multidimensional it's textural and enveloping with a layered mid-palate that's girdled by tangy acids concluding with an expansive saline finish.
This is one of the few wines in the range that displayed any appreciable reduction and here it's enough to mask the nuance of what is clearly ripe fruit. On the palate there is seriously good volume and even better density to the powerful and tautly muscular imposingly scaled flavors that also coat the mouth with dry extract on the markedly dry and hugely long finale. This is also very much built for the longer-term yet it's not so structured that it couldn't be approached after 8 to 10 years of keeping. (Drink starting 2035)
The 2020 Montrachet Grand Cru has a slight reduction on the nose but there is real intensity here with mineral-driven citrus fruit flint light earthy scents and a touch of wild mint. The palate is beautifully balanced with a fine bead of acidity fresh and vibrant lightly spiced with satisfying weight on the finish. Not the best Montrachet that I have ever tasted from Jadot but certainly this has a lot of potential. Closure: Diam (Drink between 2030-2060)
