The 2017 Pinot Noir Presqu'ile Vineyard is one of the most elegant refined wines I have tasted from Presqu'ile. Bright red berry fruit sage mint dried flowers and star anise are all finely woven together. This is the first vintage in which a clearer sense of direction is informing the wines. The 2017 Pinot is bright and savory and yet it was done with fully destemmed fruit. (Drink between 2019-2029)

The 2017 Pinot Noir Santa Maria Valley has a pale to medium ruby color and opens with gravel dust violet Earl Grey tea orange oil autumn leaves and earth with dried red cherries dried cranberry red licorice and wild blackberries. The palate is light to medium-bodied with concentrated nuanced fruits grainy tannins and very juicy acidity finishing long and layered. What a lovely expression this vintage.
