Tony Biagi is one of the busiest people in Napa Valley. A winemaker’s winemaker, Tony has numerous projects of his own and consulting that have him covering the entire Napa Valley. Subsequently producing some of the most interesting and compelling Cabernet Sauvignons of the moment.

Named winemaker of the year by Antonio Galloni in 2020, Tony is a seasoned veteran of Napa Valley that has produced some of the most acclaimed wines of the valley. From his early days at Duckhorn to his breakout moments at Plumpjack and Cade, Tony’s involvement and knowledge of the vineyards of Napa is by far one of the greatest today.

The list of wineries and projects that Tony has helped shape and define over the years also includes: Hourglass, Sinegal. Amici, Alma Rosa, Clos du Val and the To Kalon Vineyard Company. While involved with many of these wineries today, Tony has been turning out some of the most under-the-radar Napa Cabernets with his Patria Winery and as the primary winemaker for The Vineyardist Winery.

These are two projects that are simply turning out stunning Cabernet Sauvignons. Patria is where Tony, tapping into his years of experience and relationship with growers across the valley, is securing some of the finest vineyards of Napa Valley for some ultra-boutique expressions. The Vineyardist is a Calistoga estate showcasing a series of vineyards planted along the volcanic Diamond Mountain hills farmed by the legendary Phil Coturri and of course made by Tony Biagi. 

The 2021 vintage at both projects is simply marvelous. Patria provides quintessential Napa Valley Cabernets in 2021 and The Vineyardist produced some of the most acclaimed and structured wines of the vintage that are cellar stunners today and 25 years from now!
