Opening in the glass with aromas of sweet orchard fruits mingled with honeycomb butterscotch iodine and smoke the 1991 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied ample and fleshy with a broad satiny enveloping palate that's fleshy and gourmand. This is an opulent gourmand vintage for Bonneau du Martray that remains very youthful at over 30 years of age.
Remarkably pure and fresh with no hints of oxidation (which is unusual for '91s today) followed by intense pure medium weight flavors and good finishing crispness and minerality. While this is drinking perfectly today there is no particular rush provided of course that your example has been well stored. Impressive. Consistent notes at least from bottles that have been impeccably cellared.
