Top of the slope. Rich deep purple in colour but the bouquet is very classily perfumed floral even some plums behind. Darker fruit on the palate shows the heat maybe a fraction but the length of flavour behind is exceptional.

A very Gevrey nose exhibits notes of forest floor game plum dark wild berries and a touch of humus. The sleek intense and more mineral-driven larger-scaled flavors evident ample power on the youthfully austere finale that is lengthy but a bit one-dimensional today; patience strongly suggested. The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet commingling red and black fruit laced with woodland aromas and hints of girolles. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins impressive energy and a nicely proportioned finish. Stylish. (Drink between 2022-2038)

Notes of peonies violets sweet berries and rich forest floor introduce the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers a medium to full-bodied wine with a lively core of perfumed fruit refined structuring tannins and a long sapid finish. This is a superb follow-up to the fine 2018 rendition.
