The 2015 Saumur Blanc Les Pentes is from young vines in the highest part of the holdings and picked much earlier than the other Chenins due to the small grapes and berries of the plantation and the southern exposition. Picked in late September the 2015 is fresh floral and fruity on the nose. Very pure straight and elegant on the palate this is a terribly fresh and salty very long and mineral Chenin from very hard shallow soil. The 2015 Les Pentes is a superb Chenin Blanc that was raised in a round 2500-liter barrel from Franz Stockinger. "In very dry years the rock is like a sponge so the vines don?t suffer from drought like in 2017" says Michel. Also the roots go deep very quickly.
