The 2019 Fiano di Avellino Clelia takes its time blossoming in the glass. Att first it's rich with hints of hazelnut and smoke; however swirling adds freshness while revealing depths of baked apples dusty dried flowers incense and ginger. This is elegant and silky in feel with a pleasant inner sweetness as spices and ripe orchard fruits cascade across a core of brisk acidity creating an almost-crunchy sensation toward the close. It?s impossibly long and potent through the finale with salty minerals creating a push and pull of mouthwatering tension as hints of melon and inner florals fade. This is an absolutely stunning and age-worthy expression of Fiano. The Clelia is sourced from the Chiano vineyard which is located at the highest elevations within the Fiano di Avellino DOCG. About 20% of the fruit is late harvest. The wine refines on the lees for three to four months in stainless steel. Only 2000 bottles were produced. (Drink between 2023-2029)

The Colli di Lapio 2019 Fiano di Avellino Romana Clelia sees fruit sourced from high-altitude vineyards (at up to 600 meters above sea level) and calcareous clay soils. These cooler conditions and those breezy exposures with steep diurnal shifts do wonders to preserve the aromatic freshness and acidity in a grape like Fiano. With an ample 80000 bottles made you are guaranteed to find a bottle with plenty of apple honey and citrus flavors.
