Greatest Rioja Gran Reserva In Decades

2010 Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva Especial Rioja is the Greatest Gran Reserva in more than two decades!

In the past twenty years there have only been five Gran Reserva Rioja, red or white, released that have scored 97 points or higher at the Wine Advocate. Castillo Ygay holds two of those spots: 2010 Castillo Ygay and 1986 Castillo Ygay Blanco.

Search Rioja Gran Reserva in the Wine Spectator’s review database and there are only two wines rated 96 points or higher. Again, 2010 Castillo Ygay is one of them.

Wine Spectator’s Vintage Chart places the 2010 Vintage as the highest rated overall Rioja Vintage (94WS). The Wine Advocate also rates the 2010 Rioja Vintage overall the highest rating on their Vintage Chart, tied with the legendary 2004 Vintage (95WA).

The 2010 Vintage for Rioja is by far one of the best of all time.
