Cassis and blackberry flavors maintain a vital freshness despite the concentration and richness of this Syrah. It's full bodied but invigorating marked by savory nuances of smoke nut and iron. Integrated whispers of oak and fine delicate tannins make it approachable already but this beautiful wine should continue to improve through 2035.
This brims with velvety açaí berry blueberry and blackberry reduction flavors that spill forth easily guided by violet lavender bay leaf and singed sandalwood notes. The long finish reveals a tug of fresh earth flowing through beautifully. Best from 2022 through 2040. 420 cases made 100 cases imported. ? JM
Opaque ruby. Highly perfumed black and blue fruit floral and exotic spice aromas show excellent clarity and pick up a hint of smokiness with aeration. Sappy and expansive on the palate offering sweet black currant cherry and mulberry flavors that tighten up slowly through the back half. Shows sharp definition and spicy lift on a long smooth floral-accented finish framed by supple tannins. (Drink between 2023-2031)

vThe 2017 Cornas la Louvee comes across as being quite different from the 2018 offering up fresh raspberry aromas and flavors. It's still full-bodied and velvety but it's also salty crunchy and vibrant with a long licorice and pepper-tinged finish.
