There is enough reduction to suppress all but subtle spice wisps. The gorgeously textured and strikingly delineated if not especially concentrated medium-bodied flavors exude a fine bead of minerality on the caressing yet powerful even robust youthfully austere finish. This is lovely but I underscore that it's going to need at least some patience as it's very tightly wound today. (Drink starting 2034)

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Les Rouges des Dessus 1er Cru is mysterious and complex. Scents of pipe tobacco cedar crushed rocks spice and red-toned fruit emanate from the glass. There is a brooding quality in the 2022 that I find quite appealing. It works rather well with the wine?s textural depth and overall feel. This is promising. - Antonio Ga
