Aromas of sweet berries potpourri warm spices and orange rind introduce Drouhin's 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves a medium to full-bodied lively and concentrated Pinot Noir that's taut and chalky deriving from the thin soils and steep slopes of lieu-dit Sur le Grèves.
Vinous: 92 Points
The 2020 Beaune Grèves 1er Cru was quite closed on the nose which made it difficult to read. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannins. Good weight darker fruit than other cuvées the 20% whole cluster imparting spicy/peppery notes on the finish. Excellent. This is a sense of classicism that I admire here. (Drink between 2025-2040)
