Here too discreet but not invisible wood frames spicy aromas of dark cherry plum tea and pretty floral wisps. There is good intensity to the sleek delicious and lightly mineral-inflected flavors that possess the best mid-palate density of the entire range all wrapped in a mildly tangy but not drying finish that also offers the best length in the range as well.

5 Star Wine ?Cuvée du Merisier?. The vines were planted in 1905. The colour is an attractive rich mid purple. The nose is truly magisterial. Heady ripe red fruit too well bred to count as an explosion of fruit. Too intense to be described as floral. Lovely balancing acidity and exceptional length. Hedonism in its optimal rather than maximal form. Tasted: November 2018.
