The 2015 Taurasi Coste is stunning as it keeps you at the edge of your seat with a beguiling display of ashen stone and animal musk giving way to black currents plum sauce hints of oregano and smoke. This is youthfully lean yet potent as the best young Taurasi often are with tart currants and savory exotic spices contrasted by brisk acids and a flourish of sour citrus. All the while fine tannins are saturating slowly clenching the expression yet remaining nicely balanced by all of the primary intensity found within. A concentration of minerals comes forward through the finale creating an almost-salty impression that communicates the clay limestone soils these vines hail from. What a truly harmonious yet still quite structured expression. Bury these deep in the cellar and watch the 2015 Coste soften yet also gain in volume over time. Glorious.
