Still in barrels at the time of my visit Jean Gonon blended a representative sample for me to review. The 2020 Saint Joseph is classic Gonon with a complex nose of crushed stone violets cherries and blueberries; a palate that's medium to full-bodied concentrated and tannic yet silky; and a finish that's vibrant and long.

The 2020 Saint Joseph was only 10% destemmed and it?s largely in the same style as the 2018. Medium to full-bodied elegant and finesse-driven with complex notes of black raspberries blackberries bouquet garni and ground pepper it has brilliant tannins no hard edges and a great finish.
