Wine Advocate: 92 Points

The 2021 Reserva Branco is a 60/40 blend of Viosinho and Gouveio aged for five months in 50% new French barriques. This is the debut vintage of this wine at a fairly hefty price. The winery certainly picked a nice white wine vintage for a debut. This is elegant and understated tinged with some wood but also lively acidity. I like the way this shows but it will be better next year and with food. After that it's not so clear it will be a good ager. Certainly at this price it needs to be. We'll start here for the moment. There were 6100 bottles produced to be released in the fall.

Vinous: 90 Points

The 2021 Vinho Branco Reserva comes from two-hectares that are essentially the best parcels that go in to the Cedre. It comes from land that was formerly an olive grove dug up in 2006. It has a neutral slightly resinous bouquet with faint touches of lime and orange blossom. The palate is taut and fresh quite saline touches of lemon rind with traces of gooseberry and lime on the finish. Much of this cuvée is sold domestically in Portugal according to Christian Seely though he assured me that it can be found in other countries. Tasted at the Quinta do Noval tasting at Spring restaurant in London. - By Neal Martin on June 2022
