Aromas of cherries and berries mingle with notions of licorice spices and sweet soil tones to introduce the 2019 Morgon Côte du Py a medium to full-bodied velvety and concentrated wine that's seamless and complete with lively acids ripe tannins and a long sapid finish. Serious and compelling it's a terrific effort from Mee Godard.
Vinous: 94 Points
Deep violet. Intensely perfumed aromas of fresh black and blue fruits candied flowers and exotic spices; a smoky mineral accent builds as the wine opens up. Stains the palate with intense black raspberry bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors that deliver a compelling blend of power and finesse. The mineral-driven finish shows excellent tenacity and steadily mounting tannins.
