The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru was showing a lot of reduction on the nose that makes it difficult to read. The palate is well balanced with plenty of salinity quite strict and "cool" in style with a touch of orange rind on the finish. A noble Pinot. (Drink between 2024-2040)

The Puligny Folatières is expressive and more open than the La Garenne with ripe apple fruit and hints of chamomile and oak spice. The texture is richer but still keenly balanced between the prominent fruit and lively acidity. The grapes come from a 0.35-hectare parcel at mid-slope between Pucelles and Clavoillons planted with old vines (lieu-dit Au Chaniot). Soils here are heavier clay producing a richer denser result than some other Folatières. (Drink between 2025-2035)
