A fine bright even purple bizarrely accessible in 2019. A slightly toasty reduction. Very sensual absolutely delicious all the way through the oak adding a little touch of charm. Not the most massive but certainly very long. We played around with tasting from various barrels: From new Rousseau ?video? the wine came over as much more massive less aromatic and with a slightly burning feel at the back. From Rousseau ?alto? the extra weight was there but more finesse and a much longer finish. Apparently it is usually the other way round between these two types of barrel.

A flashy version this boasts vanilla and toasty oak aromas and flavors with macerated black cherry plum licorice and mint. Supple and refined with a long spice- and mineral-tinged aftertaste. So harmonious that it feels approachable now but be patient. Best from 2025 through 2042. 108 cases made.
